Guernica Publisher Wins Film Awards

Bruco¸ an independent film by author, filmmaker and Guernica Editions publisher Antonio D'Alfonso, won Best International Feature Film and Best International Director of a Feature Film at the New York International Film Festival, which was held this year in Los Angeles. D'Alfonso describes his film:

A film in five parts: The dead father and the award; Anna, Monica, and Maya; An episode; The cross-examination; Bruco becomes a butterfly. Bruco is a totally independent film. The original script was about twenty-five pages which I gradually reworked. Nothing is improvised. A writer wants to become a butterfly. A man wants to change his life. He is at the peak of his career, then something breaks. He meets the Minotaur. Roland Barthes wrote somewhere that if you were to analyze all works of art they would contain one hidden meaning: “I love you.” Of course, this film is also about difference.

The film stars Lazar, Jennifer Dale, Nick Mancuso, Lyne Tremblay, Srdjan Nikolic, Valentine Leone, Tea Cheney and Frank Caruso.
