Writers' Trust Awards

Spending a few hours drinking wine and watching extremely talented people receive awards for their work is a very pleasant way to spend an evening. Last night, we Open Bookers got to indulge in such an evening at the Isabel Bader Theatre in Toronto, where we watched the recipients of the Writers' Trust Awards receive their prizes. The combined value of the awards is $155,000, making the event one of the richest awards nights in Canada. The joy, enthusiasm and genuine surprise many of the recipients expressed made for a really splendid evening.
